Kindergarten Progress Report
To the Parent/Guardian of _______________________________________
At the present time, your child is performing at one of the following levels:
S - Satisfactory
U - Unsatisfactory
R - Readiness
“S” means the student satisfactorily demonstrates concepts and skills appropriate to his or her grade. The student is making steady progress.
“U” means the student has made little or no progress in learning concepts and skills appropriate to his or her grade. Extra assistance is consistently needed to engage the student in assigned tasks. “U” indicates the student is making unsatisfactory progress.
“R” is reserved for a small percentage of entering kindergartners who are at various stages of development. For these youngsters the first grading period comes too early to adequately measure progress. There is a period of time when some students are still adjusting to the new school experience. This varies for individual children. The student may simply need more time to demonstrate abilities. For these students, the teacher will indicate “R” for Readiness. However, the student will be graded on grade level standards for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Nine Weeks.
